                                                     I'd Love to be a Fairy's Child

                                                 Robert Graves

Once in a while I like to revert back to my childhood and get lost in those magical fairytale lands bustling with talking animals, ball gowns, and beautiful princesses.   I'm especially fond of designers who take inspiration from these characters and bring us their version of this whimsical world.  Right now I'm coveting anything Charlotte Olympia -I mean she's had to be a fairy godmother in her past life.

Anyways -this would probably be the appropriate time to introduce you to one of my favorite authors, Robert Graves, who can perfectly transcribe the imagination conjured by this fantasy folkloric world. Enjoy!

NONOO

I came across Nonoo a while back in Harpers Bazaar 'Girl Behind the Brand' segment, and immediately fell in love with not only the finely tailored and structured pieces from the collection, but the designer her self, Misha Nonoo.  So naturally I was excited to see her as one of the ten finalists in this years CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, an annual competition which supports and funds the most promising design talents in the U.S.

Nonoo's designs are just as elegant and appealing as the designer herself.  I love that she embodies the women whom she wants to see in her clothes.  Nonoo initially launched a coat and jacket label, but incorporated more pieces into her later collections.  I'm obsessed with the fabric prints and the intricate cuts that give her pieces such amazing structure and elegance.  I've always believed that the best designers incorporate art into their pieces, and Misha does this perfectly with the abstract and floral prints in her pieces.  It takes true talent to present daily wardrobe staples with such allure -I especially love that she incorporates and pairs together different materials and textures.  You'll see exactly what I mean in her Spring | Summer 2014 collection pictured here.

Misha is definitely following the footsteps of past CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Alumini -Proenzo Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Derek Lam, Georgina Chapman of Marchesa- just to name a few of the amazingly talented designers who have gone on to reign global fashion houses.

Meet Matthew - The Next Top Model

I came across this precious little lamb a few months back while flipping through Vogue.  Matthew (yes he has a name) caught my eye while as I was going through the first bazillion pages of ads -yes I look at every campaign - and then amidst the sultry eyed, flawless faced models, I find my self staring at Matthew.  I was definitely caught off guard, mainly because we rarely see innocence and fashion go hand in hand.

Matthew is the newest face of Agnona's advertising campaign.   He is part of Stefano Pilati's first post YSL campaign 'Collection Zero' with Agnona.  The title for this collection is appropriate as Stefano wanted to keep the pieces and looks seasonless.  As for Matthew, I think he is the perfect muse for the idea behind this new collection.  Personally, I think Pilati made a great choice using him as a timeless symbol of this luxury brand.

You can read more about the campaign and Matthew here.
